Tangerine Tango Smoke!

Here's a great smokey eye look inspired by Tangerine Tango that's perfect for spring and summer evenings!
For those of us with blue eyes, this orange trend is perfect because it really makes blues pop!

1 Apply foundation all over and concealer in areas of concern. Set with a translucent powder.
2 Blend bronzer through the backs of the cheeks, and around the hair and jawline. Apply a peach-bronze blush to compliment the look onto the cheeks.
3 Pat eyeshadow primer all over the lid before pressing a burnt orange pigment from lash line to crease on the first two thirds of the lid. Blend your edges.
4 Press a black eyeshadow onto the outer most third of the lid and blend. Continue to apply the shadow and blend until you have a good level of intensity and a natural gradation of colour.
5 Line the upper and lower waterlines (inside of the eye) and smudge into the lower lashes on the outer corners.
6 Bring your black shadow on the outer corners of the lower lashes to give a smouldered and smokey look. Pack your burnt orange pigment onto the inner half of the lower lash line and lightly blend across the black.
7 Blend a light champaign shadow through the brow bone and onto the inner corners of the eye for a barely there highlighted look!
Apply lots of mascara to the upper and lower lashes.
Finish with lip balm to hydrate and naturally plump!

Get Glowing Summer Skin!

Summer is always our favourite time to show some skin and let our natural beauty shine through. So here's a fun tutorial on how to still have fun with a natural makeup look, and really play up a glowing tan!

1 Apply a lightweight foundation all over and concealer in areas of concern (under the eyes, on any blemishes). You'll find in the summer you not only don't like the feel of a fuller coverage foundation, but you wont need it, and light coverage foundations or tinted moisturizers are perfect for this time of year. Lightly dust a setting powder through the centre of the face.
2 Buffing a warm bronzer on the high points of the face will create a natural looking tan. Apply your bronzer across the top of the cheeks, cheekbones and nose; the temples, forehead and hairline; the jawline, chin and brow bone.
3 Apply a luminizer (highlighter) on the top of the cheekbones, down the centre of the nose, and bring it all over the lid from lash line to brow bone. This will give the skin that really gorgeous glow you always see on celebrities.
4 Use an angled brush to apply a dark brown shadow against the upper and lower lashes on the outer corners of the eyes. This is a great way to softly line your eyes and it makes your lashes appear thicker!
5 Line your waterline with an off white pencil for a wide eyed look. Avoid using a straight white pencil if you want a more natural look.
Apply one coat of mascara to the upper lashes.
7 Softly define the natural shape of your brows. You want them to look natural, but remember that your brows frame your face and really play an important role in how polished you look.
8 Apply a light, natural beige/pink coloured gloss to the lips to finish.

And remember, one of the best ways to get glowing skin all over is to exfoliate! Exfoliating not only sloughs off dead skin which will better absorb moisture and colour, but also stimulates and brings blood to the surface of the skin to reveal a youthful and natural glow!

Hope you guys are staying radiant this summer!

Sunkissed in Pink!

Here's a super summery look inspired by Cameron Diaz! This look is super simple... think tight lined eyes, sun kissed glowing skin, and bright pink lips perfect for summer!

I'm willing to bet a nice deep navy liner in place of black would work great for this look! Also, I love Nars lipsticks and highly recommend checking out Lipstick in 'Schiap' and limited edition Pure Matte Lipstick in 'Carthage' if you have a light to medium skin tone, and Lipstick in 'Funny Face' if you have a medium to deep skin tone!

1 After smoothing on your primer (to ensure a long lasting makeup), apply your foundation all over and concealer under the eyes and on any other areas of concern. Set with a translucent powder. I've been using The Beauty Blender sponge to apply my foundation all week and I'm really loving it!
2 Sweep your bronzer through the back of the cheeks, temples and hairline... and lightly dust over the nose and chin for a sun kissed look. Apply a shimmering pink blush to the apples of the cheeks for a rosy glow.
3 Lightly sweep a neutral champaign shadow close to your skin colour all over the lid and along the lower lashline. This is what gives that naturally glossy look to the lids.
4 Smudge a medium deep brown toned shadow into the lashes on the outer corners of the eye.
5 With a black pencil, tight line the upper and lower lashes (inside of the eye) and make sure to wrap the liner in and around the inner corner of the eyes. If you skip the inner corners with your pencil the eyes will look incomplete.
6 Apply mascara liberally to upper lashes, and a little to the outer lower lashes.
7 Smooth on a bright pink lipstick and blot away the excess!

What kind of looks will you be sporting this summer? Don't forget, bright colours look fantastic against bronzed glowing skin!

Trend: Bright Lids

This spring/summer trend is here in full force! Much like last year, bright splashes of colour over the lids, cheeks, and lips are extremely popular. Think about a modernized 80's look and don't be afraid to express yourself! In fact, through out the rule book and pair your bright eyes with bright pouts too! Take some inspiration from shows like Dior, Derek Lam, Betsey Johnson, and Peter Som.

And remember, you can pair this bright colour trend with other trends from this season... like keeping the skin looking clean, fresh, and natural. It's all about having the appearance of perfect looking skin, without it being obvious that you're wearing makeup!

Here's a few simple splashes of colour I've had fun playing with this week! When I wear a bright eye'd look I like to really layer on the mascara! Having loads of black mascara really contrasts and stands out against a brightly coloured lid. I also placed a creamy white base all over the lid before adding the bright shadow. The white base gives a brighter more true colour and the creamy texture helps the shadow to stay put all day.

Trend: Orange Lips

One of this seasons hot trends is a bright orange lip, and I'm so excited to rock it!
I'm wearing Cargo's 'Evangeline' Lipstick in the photo.

Here are a few tips on how to achieve that perfect orange pout!
Choose a lip liner closest to your lipstick colour and line the cupids bow (top), bottom, and outer corners of your lips.
Then connect your lines and lightly fill in the rest of your lip with the liner. It's important to use a lip liner when wearing such a bold colour. Not only will it give you a crisper straight edge, but it will prevent your lip colour from bleeding as well.
Next, fill in your lips with your favourite orange hue and voila!

When you're done, there are a few extra steps you can take to really make your lips stand out!
If you lightly trace around the outside edge of your lips with a concealer, it will highlight the lip line and make your colour pop out even more!
But here's a great makeup artist tick! Want to give your lips even more dimension and drama? Try adding a darker shade in the outer corners and a lighter one just in the centre of your lips to make your lips appear more plump. (Sometimes I even use a black eyeliner to deepen the outer corners... and it really completes the look!).

These basic rules work perfectly for any lip colour you want to sport! But remember, when rocking the orange lip you want to keep the rest of your makeup more natural and softer to balance it out.

When choosing an orange lipstick to flatter you're skin tone, think soft peach and corals if your lighter, and deep tangerines and true oranges if you're darker. But if you have the confidence to pull off the brightest, boldest orange... I say go for it!

Some of my favourite orange lip colours:
Cargo 'Evangeline' - Light bright orange (sheer)
Josie Maran 'Solo Love' - Light peach (sheer)
Givenchy Satin Lipstick '14 Fruity Orange' - Juicy orange (sheer)
Guerlain Kiss Kiss '54' - Peach orange (shimmery, sheer)
Stila 'Outrageous' - Bright true orange (matte velvet, opaque)
Makeup Forever '40' - Bright true orange (opaque)
Sephora Collection 'It Girl R06' - Deep orange (opaque)
Mac 'Morange' - Red orange (opaque)
Nars 'Heat Wave' - Red orange (opaque)
