Rich Brown Smokey Eye

Who says brown is boring? This neutral smokey eye is a more subtle, wearable take on a tradition black shadow and liner look that pairs well with everything (no matter what you're wearing)! This look has few steps, is easy to do, and is really flattering... enjoy!

1 Apply foundation all over, concealer in areas of concern, and set with a translucent powder.
2 Buff a shimmering bronzer through the backs of the cheeks, temples, hairline, nose and chin for a quick and subtle hint of a summer glow.
3 Lightly apply a shimmering golden pink blush to the apples of the cheeks.
4 After patting on an eyeshadow primer, draw all over the lid from lash line to just below the crease with a bronze taupe eyeliner pencil and smooth with your finger. Apply this liner onto your inner rim as well being sure to wrap around the inner corner.
5 Press a matte taupe brown shadow onto the lid directly on top of the eyeliner. Not only will this give your shadow staying power, it will also add dimension and a rich pigment to your shadow. Bring this shadow close along the lower lash line as well.
6 Blend a warm red brown shadow into the crease and along the outer half of the lower lash line. Rich red browns look great on green and blue eyes!
7 For a bit of shine, highlight the bottom of the inner corner of the eye and underneath the brow bone.
8 Apply mascara to the upper and lower lashes.
9 Top it off with a shimmering pinky gloss and your done!

3D Glitter Sloane Square

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I was out of the country for work this past week with no time and no access to blogspot... but I'm back! And excited to share a new post with you on the newest addition to my nail polish family... Nails Inc's Special Effects 3D Glitter Nail Polish in Sloane Square

(no flash, natural lighting - click photo to enlarge)

This UK based nail brand just launched in US Sephora's and I was super excited when I saw it. I love the rocker edge of this gun metal colour but it also comes in purple and teal which were equally as nice! These polishes dry super fast and are good to go in 1 to 2 coats.

In the photo I have a base coat of a sheer black polish, two coats of Sloane Square and a top coat. I can't wait to experiment with this polish! I'd love to do a deep green or purple under it with just 1 coat of glitter... and I'd love to try an ombre technique or glitter accented ring finger!

Isn't nail art is such a fun way to accessorize and express yourself?

July Favourites!

It's hard to believe July has come and gone and we're already in the last month of summer! All of the new fall makeup collections are already hitting counters and even though the end of summer makes me sad, fall newness is sooo exciting and I can't wait to pick up some new goodies!

For the month of July, I've been loving some great new products but first I have to say that I've been using my Benefit Hoola Bronzer everyday and loving it! This has always been one of my favourites and it's definitely been my go to this summer. Sparkle and shine show up much more in the summer sun so I love that this bronzer is a true brown matte shade that I can't live without! They've also recently repackaged and the boxed powder now comes with a flip top lid with a mirror inside!

As far as newness goes... Stila's Stay All Day Waterproof Brow Colour is among a few new products they've launched recently. I've tried other products like this before with felt tips that dried up after 3 uses so I was hesitant about trying this one... but I'm sure glad I did! The tip is more like a brush and the colour is perfect (I use medium) and it gives such a natural look! I take care to make sure there is no foundation or powder in my brows before using the product because my guess is that my complexion products are what dried up my previous product.

I've also been obsessed with the newest colour from the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatments... Honey! I've always loved this product and was so excited for the launch of this new pinky nude shade! A lemon scented lip balm with jojoba, shea, and an SPF of 15 what more could you ask for? How about super chic packaging and four perfect shades... my fav! (I've been wearing it every day).

And last, but not least, I love the new MAC Semi Precious Collection and should probably make my way over to my nearest counter for some more before it's all gone! If you're a fan of mineralized and baked products you should check out this limited edition collection asap! The first product I snagged from the collection and the one that stood out to me the most was the Mineralize Skin Finish Semi Precious Crystal Pink. One product, three shades, gorgeous sheen. Perfect for light doses of summer glow!

Hope you guys found some great new products like I did this month!
