Bloody Nail Tips!

This Halloween inspired nail design is a lot of fun and really simple to do!

(click photo's to enlarge)

1 Apply two sheer coats of your favourite natural/nude polish and let it dry.
2 Make a small pool of your dark red nail polish on a metal tray or any other disposable palette.
3 Use your dotting tool to pick up the nail colour and make random dots where the ends of your drips will be. Then go back and drag from the dot up to the tip of the nail. You will have to reload your dotting tool several times.
4 Fill in the tip of the nail and connect the tops of the drips with your dotting tool.
5 Once your nail colour is mostly dry, apply a top coat to protect your design and make it shine!

I wanted the colour of my 'blood' to be a dark red with a bit of shimmer so I mixed two nail polish colours together to get the perfect shade! Not only does this give me a unique colour, it also makes the look really dimensional.
Don't be afraid to experiment!

How Cute Is That?

Thought I'd share with you guys what nail polish I'm sporting right now!
Sephora by O.P.I Nail Colour in 'How Cute Is That?'.

Such a pretty colour and great for summer! It's a light melon pink with golden pink shimmer and looks great on everyone! (Even my mom decided she was going to steal it from me!). It reminds me of a brighter, pinker Nars 'Orgasm' Nail Polish!

What are some of your favourite nail polish colours for summer?

Glitter Nail Tips

Here's a fairly simple nail design that looks clean and fun!

1 Apply your base coat (to better adhere your polish and prevent yellowing).
2 Apply sparkle polish carefully only to the tips of the nails. Don't worry about the sparkles being sparse. I have about three layers of sparkle on the tips of my nails in total. Each layer builds upon the other adding more sparkle each time.
3 Add two more layers of sparkle on the tips of your nails. If you get a large glitter particle too low on the nail simply push it up or remove it with either the brush or your finger.
4 Apply a top coat to protect, smooth, and add a glossy shine.

Another great advantage of this design is that glitter polish really strongly adheres to the nail so you're guaranteed a long lasting manicure. Plus, if your polish chips it's not very noticeable and it's easy to touch up!

In this look I used Sephora OPI 'Flurry Up Top Coat'. I like the silver on a lighter skin but have fun with it! This glitter nail polish also comes in gold ('Only Gold For Me Top Coat') and now in a really new unique copper shade ('Traffic Stopper Copper Top Coat')!
